Principal’s Corner 9-22-16

Happy Homecoming and Creston Color Run week!  Say a little prayer for the weather to cooperate for all of our great activities this weekend.

Things to Note:

Friday – September 23

*Optional Sack Lunch Day – Milk will be provided

*Last day to purchase a Rosary.  They are $3 each and they will be sold before school in the gym.

*Spirit Day $1 – students can wear sweatpants for $1

*Spirit Assembly with the Creston football team and Cheerleaders  9:50am

*Homecoming Parade 2pm – We are located in spot 21 on the corner of Prairie and Sycamore Street, near the High School. Ben Adamson will be driving us, so look for a white truck with a red trailer hitched on the back. We would like to have the kids there by 1:45 at the latest.
     After the parade, the float will end at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where you can pick your child up. If you have any questions or concerns, please call my cell phone at 641-745-5138. I will have my phone on me before, during, and after the parade if you need to get a hold of your child.

Sunday – September 25 – Creston Color Run (rain or shine)

Pick up your race bags on Saturday from 11-1 at the school or you may pick up your race bag the day of the race.

PTO Shirts

PTO will be designing t-shirts for the 2016-2017 school year.  St. Malachy students will be voting for their favorite design using the Chromebook soon.


St. Malachy is seeking help

Lunchroom Volunteer: Help students in the school cafeteria with condiments, wiping tables and dismissal. Hours are 11:15am to 12:45pm. One volunteer per day. Your younger children are welcome to join you. Volunteering in the lunchroom is a fun way to interact with students. Depending on the amount of volunteers we will create a rotational schedule.

Chris Mansour is seeking volunteers to read 30 minutes/week with 1st graders at St. Malachy.  The program starts the week of Nov. 7.  Please call Chris to volunteer or for more info-782-4382.
