St. Malachy had a fabulous talent show this afternoon! We really have very talented students at STM.  Be watching for pictures tomorrow!

A big thank you to everyone who came to our Chamber Coffee on Wednesday morning.  We had a wonderful turnout of community members.  St. Malachy 8th and 1st grade students did an excellent job presenting their projects to the guests. Thank you Miss Dodge, Mrs. Clayton & Mrs. Clark for providing a lovely breakfast.

Wellness Policy Committee Meeting

Thursday, February 9

6pm

It is not too late to join this committee if you would like to update the St. Malachy Wellness Policy.

We have lots of illness going around at St. Malachy.  It is imperative that families follow our illness policy to help cut down on a number of sick children.

*  ILLNESS

In the event a child becomes ill at school, he/she will be cared for to the best of our ability until the parent/guardian can be contacted.  No child will be sent home alone when ill unless the parent is contacted and gives such approval.

Returning to school after an illness:  The Center for Disease Control recommends that people with influenza – like illness remain at home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever (100 F), diarrhea, vomiting, severe cough/cold, or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medications (Tylenol, etc.)

TRIO EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH (ETS) is coming to St. Malachy.  ETS  is a college preparatory program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of ETS is to help participants complete high school and gain admission to postsecondary programs, prepare for the ACT and learn about financial aid.  Students who apply for ETS will meet with an advisor once a month at St. Malachy School.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in college visits and cultural trips.  The ETS helps fund ACT testing and college applications. Please send in your applications we will be setting up our monthly meetings very soon.  If you need a new application please contact Mrs. Lane.

The recruitment season is upon us!  Do you know families who are interested in enrolling their child in kindergarten or preschool program at St. Malachy next year?  Please let them know we have information nights coming up in February.
