Wow, an ice storm and 40 degrees all in the same week!  Our students and teachers did a great job going with the flow after the late start Tuesday.

The recruitment season is upon us!  Do you know families who are interested in enrolling their child in kindergarten or preschool program at St. Malachy next year?  Please let them know we have information nights coming up in February.

St. Malachy school will be hosting a talent show during Catholic Schools Week!

Sign up sheets to try out for the talent show have been placed in each wing.

TRYOUTS: January  24 & 26 Tryout out times are during the recess after lunch.

TALENT SHOW: February 2nd.  A schedule of performances will be released at a later time.

Eucharistic Celebration 9am at Holy Spirit Church

Start making plans.  Students have a big spring break March 17-26

Students have a mini-break April 17-19.

This mini-break allows our entire teaching staff to attend the National Catholic Education Association Conference in St. Louis.  Our teachers are so excited to go and collaborate with Catholic teachers from all over the nation.

St. Malachy will once again this year participate in the Creston Community Coin Wars.

 • Each class tries to fill the jar with money.
• Money can be placed in the jars from January 23rd-January 27th
• On Friday, January 27th an FBLA member will collect your bucket of change and count it.

All money will be donated for Union County Veterans to go on Honor Flights!

TONIGHT – 6 pm

Babysitting will be provided $1 per child

Join us for our monthly meeting.  Father Halbur and Mrs. Simmons will be doing a presentation about our new building project.  Please come to learn more and get involved with the process.

St. Malachy is going on the road January 22nd.  We will be at Mass at 8:15 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Greenfield, Iowa.  We will be meeting with prospective families.  If you know about a family that might be interested in enrolling next year please let them know we will be in town!
