This was such a busy and fun week.  We celebrated Halloween on Monday and All Saints Day on Tuesday.

elections-101-iowa-straw-poll-610-by-279Our students also participated in the Iowa Youth Straw Poll on Tuesday.  Donald Trump was elected at our school with 49.7% of the vote and Hillary Clinton had 31.5% of the St. Malachy student vote.  These are similar to the percentages across the state.  Statewide Donald had  46% of the vote and Hillary had 36% of the student vote.  I will be interested to see how this compares to the election next week.  Don’t forget to get out and vote!  Thank you 7th grade and Mr. Scar for hosting this event!

On Thursday 5th grade presented their cities of Iowa projects.  I really enjoy seeing these projects and talking to the students about their city.  It is so exciting to see their project design and research paper.
